When using a tree as an anchor point in a recovery situation, wrapping cable, rope or chain around it causes damage to both your equipment and the tree. ARB’s ARB735LB tree trunk protectors help eliminate the risk of ring barking and ensure safe vehicle recovery.
When you get ready to deploy your winch rope, you’ll need to grab an ARB735LB tree saver strap in addition to your gloves, a shackle, and a winch cable damper. By placing the strap around the tree, you’ll not only have a great place to pull from, but you’ll also be able to keep the strap as low to the ground on the tree as possible, where the tree is the strongest. This will also protect the tree from damage, or also from you potentially cutting through the tree with the winch cable, and killing it and maybe pulling the tree towards you!! Vehicle recoveries can be super dangerous, so be sure to have the proper equipment on hand at all times whenever you plan to go offroad.

So you need some pull and the strongest thing around to leverage is a big, sturdy tree. The roots may be strong enough to serve as an anchor point, but the bark might be soft to the touch up above. Protect the trees that help you out of jams with the ARB Tree Saver Strap.
While your ARB Tree Saver Strap is designed to prevent ringbarking on a tree, it can be used to help attach your winch rope to pretty much any anchor point. The 100% Polyester construction is designed to hold firm with no stretching. This strap has been tested in a NATA-approved laboratory and weight rated to withstand up to 26,500 lbs.
Two lengths are available – 10’ or 16’. This strap is color-coded in a high-visibility green and backed by a 2-Year Warranty.
