LRA was created in 1989 by brothers Anthony & Roger Beimers.

Anthony is a qualified Boiler Maker and has a passion for rebuilding and refurbishing classic cars. Roger is a qualified Panel Beater and loves Four Wheel Driving & motorbike riding. Between the two brothers there is a lot of knowledge of both the 4WD and Automotive industries, as well as many manufacturing processes.

Anthony works primarily behind the scenes here at LRA, although he can be spotted on the LRA stand at the 4WD Trade Shows. Anthony works together with the engineering team developing all the latest model tank designs.

Roger works in the office alongside the Sales and Administration team, as well as getting his hands dirty in the workshop fitting tanks. Roger also works on the LRA stand at the 4WD Trade Shows.

The LRA team and factory has progressively grown over the years and we now have 15 staff members, (some of who have been with us since the beginning) on a premise of over 1200 square meters.

FAQ’S

Warranty Information – https://longrangeamerica.com/tank-warranty-registration/tank-limited-warranty/

Can I fit your Ford Ranger Fuel Tank long range replacement tank myself?
LRA Auxiliary and Replacement tank fitment is best undertaken by an experienced well equipped workshop.

Do I require an aftermarket guard to protect my Ford Ranger Fuel Tank long range replacement tank?
LRA tanks are constructed from 2mm aluminized steel and fully baffled internally, therefor a separate guard is not required.

Do you sell spare parts?
Long Range America does sell and service all parts and components in our current range.  Located in Boise, Idaho.

Do your replacement tanks come with a sender unit or do they use the original sender?
All replacement tanks will use the vehicles original sender unit.

Does LRA quote usable gallons or total tank capacity?
LRA does quote usable gallons bearing in mind that driving conditions can have a bearing on this.

Does the Distance to Empty function in my vehicle still remain accurate?
The distance to empty function on your trip computer will not remain accurate. The vehicles ECU has the capacity of the original tank programmed into it and the DTE counts down as the float starts to move from Full to empty. The closer you get to empty the more accurate the DTE becomes. Distance Till Empty can be recalibrated with the use of FORSCAN software, this will be a customer sourced option.

It is incorrect to say that once the fuel gauge starts to move you only have the capacity of the original tank left. In general the Longrange replacement tank has a greater surface area than the original tank and there is a portion of fuel above the full limit of the float that needs to be used before the gauge starts to move.

It is important to remember that the actual fuel gauge will read correctly at empty.

We suggest that to become familiar with how your fuel gauge registers once you have your Longrange tank fitted you refill your tank from quarter, half and three quarters of a tank and take note of the amount of Liters you can put in.

Another tip is to reset one of your trip meters every time you fill your tank, over time you will be able to establish how far you can travel in different driving conditions.

Does the tank kit come with everything needed to complete the install?
Our tanks come with everything required to complete the installation. On some occasions a muffler change is required, we will make a note of this on the ‘Exhaust’ section of the tank specification.

Will my exhaust need to be modified?
Some of our tanks will require exhaust modifications, please refer to the ‘Exhaust Notes’ in the product specifications.

Will my fuel gauge remain accurate with a long range fuel tank?
This does differ a lot from vehicle to vehicle. Most replacement tanks will tend to hang on full for a while until the fuel level that is above the upper level of the float is used. Low fuel warning lights will generally come on at the same level as the original tank but with a greater reserve capacity as the tank has a larger surface area.
