Description

Dobinsons weld on bump stop mounts to hold the Dobinsons hydro bumps HBS56-009.

Whenever adding bigger tires, or doing a full suspension kit on an older vehicle, the original bump stops may be damaged, missing, or just not suitable. These Dobinsons adjustable height weld on bump stop cans are the answer, allowing you to set the bump stop clearance height to the axle when combined with the Dobinsons hydro bump and setting the height properly with the threaded body.

When driving hard off road, it’s extremely common to come across some uneven terrain too quickly and risk bottoming out the front end.  The easiest damage that can happen from doing this is if you bottom out the front struts.  This hard impact can have really negative long term effects on the seals in the front struts, and repeated bottoming out can lead to early failure far sooner than what they were intended to do.  By setting the correct amount of bump stop clearance up front, your bump stops will properly bottom out on the front lower control arms before the strut has a chance to hit full compression, therefore saving some life out of it.  These Dobinsons weld-on bump stop cans come with a threaded body for the hydraulic bump stop to go into so you can add the correct amount of additional spacing to your bump stop to compensate for the lifted height you are running at and the additional travel your struts have.   Aftermarket struts with a longer compressed length than stock should be running longer bump stops so that they bottom out at the appropriate time or if you are running over sized tires and need to stop them from making contact during up travel.
